High on drama! Nida Mahmood's Autumn/Winter'09 presentation at WIFW firmly put the ubiquitous Indian Chai high up on the sophistication platform.

The drama was complete, with roadside balloon vendor, paan wala, bangle seller and chai wala, being part of the show. The models walked up to them, instead of getting on to the catwalk.

The garments on display ranged from green patent leather high-waist pants to crow and graffiti print skirt. There was a blue-purple panel kaftan dress, yellow origamic bags and scarves. There were tunics, jackets and long coats as well as accessories like faux leather patent bags, shoes, notebooks, all on the same theme.

Mahmood also presented beautifully paneled sarees with hand embroidery, brocade patches and origami flower blouses. With all this detailing, the clothes look amazingly inviting.

All in all, a very different beginning to the last day of the WIFW. High on Indian Chai.
