From times immemorial, tragedy has been considered beautiful. Geisha designs Autumn/Winter'09 collection shows us why. The clothes symbolised the desolation of winter, the desolation of a breakup or the loneliness felt by the one who walks alone.
Geisha presented on the ramp delicate embroidery, striking textures, vibrant nature motifs combined with detailed precision.
Form-fitted dresses tracing out a controlled cut, dispensing with superfluous details, took the center-stage. Simple, sophisticated elegance was combined with flawless functionality in the collection.
Inspired by the play of light with shadow, matt with shimmer, overall colour palette was forceful and classic. Nighttimemysterious greys, silver, blacks with a hint of deep emerald, burnt sienna, occasional ivory and scarlet teamed with black to heighten the opulent look.
The designers have made an innovative and judicious use of winter fabrics such as wool, satin, taffeta, silk net and georgette to compile a structure collection.
The inspiration for the collection is a woman who is introspective, evolved and fulfilled and yet not recluse. A woman who would throw beautifully crafted tragic black flowers.
